Saracens Coach Educators Lewis Sones & Charlie Esdon continued their visit to Malaysia by delivering coach education clinics for 70 coaches from National Rugby Development Programme (NRDP) schools, hosted in Melaka and Kuala Lumpur on 5th and 6th March 2018.
Players being introduced to functional movement preparation at KVMT
The focus of the sessions was on fundamental movement preparation and coaching through game play, with two sessions per day being held at Kolej Vokasional Melaka Tengah (KVMT) on Day 1 and Sekolah Menengah Sains Selangor (SMSS) on Day 2.

Coaches attending the sessions were selected from NRDP partner schools in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Perak, ensuring a broad geographical reach for the coaching messages. The sessions were partly classroom based, but largely practical in nature, with students ranging from Form 1 to Form 5 taking part in the on-field activities; all four coaching clinics were high energy and saw great levels of coach participation and interaction.

Thanks go to the NRDP for co-ordinating the programme and to host schools KVMT and SMSS for the use of their facilities and their warm hospitality. We look forward to working together in the future and to hopefully welcoming Saracens back for more interaction with the NRDP.
