Sunday 30th June 2019 – KL Saracens 1st XV continued their Liga KRS campaign on Sunday with their second fixture against Royal Town Warriors (RTW) at Poli Shah Alam. RTW got off to a blistering start, putting KLS under pressure all over the park to build a 27-8 lead before Saracens had really woken up. Some key reminders from the coaching staff helped to focus the side who went on to put in an increasingly dominant second-half display, culminating in a last minute try in the corner to cut the deficit to 2 points. Aiman Fariz duly stepped-up to kick a very impressive conversion from the touchline to ensure that the spoils were shared on the day.
Sunday’s fixture marked the last game in which Forwards coach Paul Hollings will be involved. Paul has been working with Academy, Development and 1st XV forward over the last year and has contributed greatly to improvements that have resulted in our forward play. We wish him luck in his future endeavours in the Middle-East and hope to see him back at KL Saracens sometime in the future.
Also in action on Sunday were the KL Saracens Storm development side who played friendlies against Ansara and Sarawak Rangers in preparation for the upcoming KLS Founders’ Development League – more of that to come soon!
